Max Green Alchemy Scalp Rescue Shampoo Review

Max Green Alchemy Scalp Rescue Shampoo
Average Reviews:

Scalp feels lighter, relaxed. Says good for all hair types including color treated. It's so concentrated even with my long hair, only a tiny bit is plenty, so you get your money's worth. I do like the conditioner more & conditioner really softens my hair more then this shampoo.
Within 2 uses, my hair felt softer & a little shinier. After now THREE MONTHS, my hair is very soft, very shinny, supple/soft more then it's EVER been since I was a kid. My hair looks perfect for a hair care commercial. Yes, it's flatter, but used to be white person's afro from all the frizziness. It's nowhere near flat iron flat & my natural curls still have body. I'm not sure if this shampoo is a little drying, but I definitely love the conditioner. Don't expect added volume, just curl definition/smoother.
Check out the manufacturer's site by looking up the name. No, not being paid for this, just good, natural product & hope with this to make sure they keep producing it due to demand.
Can look up the brand's website if local health stores have it or order through them or here. I ordered it here through Forever Young Store, very good customer service, very fast shipping. Been ordering more.

Dr. Bronner - Castile Soap Tea Tree Review

Dr. Bronner - Castile Soap Tea Tree
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a happy user of Dr Bronner's the "Cheapened" review concerned me. I wrote to the company and would like to share their reply.
Hi there,

Thanks for writing and sharing your honest feedback. The soap is lighter
than it was before since now we use colorless but more effective vitamin E
(tocopherols) and not dark brown rosemary, and the viscosity is a little
different because of a higher olive oil content, but the soap is just as
concentrated as it was before at 39% solid.Absolutely no dilution has
occurred. You can determine this by pouring similar quantities of our older
conventional and newer organic liquid soaps into separate cups, and
observing that exactly the same amount of solid soap is left behind when the
water evaporates.

I know that the aroma of the soap is a little different, especially the
peppermint. Peppermint crops are the most susceptible to climate, similar to
how grapes can be distinguished by the environment in which they're grown.
When we switched to organic peppermint oil, we had to switch our source to
India rather than Washington state. The former aroma was more spicy and the
newer Indian peppermint oil has a mellower chocolatey smell. We still add
the same amount to our soaps.

All in all, the integrity of our soaps is higher than they have ever been.
We have now converted all of our oils to organic oils, which means that we
are supporting lots of sustainable farming and farm-worker health now.The
cost to us has been tremendous, but we felt the earth was definitely worth
it.Besides, this was an endeavor Dr. Bronner would definitely have
supported if he were alive today.

I hope these explanations have helped. Please let me know if I can be of further help.

John Masters Organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner Review

John Masters Organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this shampoo after reading the ingredients label at Whole Foods. To have Aloe as the 2nd ingredient is a huge plus for me.Initially I was not a big fan of the smell (it smells almost like caramel) but after using it a couple times, I cannot get enough of it!I leave it on my hair longer just so I can keep smelling the wonderful scent.Leaving it on longer has made my scalp more healthy. It took me a month to notice, but I have been itching much less than I used to.

It doesn't lather as much as the standard shampoos, but it lathers enough to make you feel clean. And I still use a conditioner in addition to this because my hair is thick and dry.

It is pricey, but you are paying for a safe, effective, luxurious eco-friendly product.I HIGHLY recommend this shampoo!I RARELY repurchase expensive products and fall back to the drugstore brands, but this time I will!

Starwest Botanicals Organic Spirulina Powder Review

Starwest Botanicals Organic Spirulina Powder
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I threw out this product as soon as I saw on the package that it was MADE IN CHINA.

After the recent, tragic food contamination events in China (contaminated milk that resulted in infant deaths, contaminated pet food that killed hundreds of pets) and the shocking revelation that the USDA rarely and superficially inspects imported foods for possible contamination, I throw out anything edible that comes from China. It makes no difference to me that it bears the USDA Organic stamp, and I'll explain this below.

I need to see dependable evidence that the Chinese are taking measures to clean up their end of food inspection, analysis, and production before I trust food grown/manufactured in China.

NEWS: Since October 2005, most of "organic" spirulina was from the USA.Two major USA companies have both ceased production of "organic spirulina" due to the USDA terminating the use of a fertilizer (sodium bicarbonate extracted from sea water) which was originally permitted as an "organic" feed for the growth of spirulina. Since sodium bicarbonate is extracted and made to be used in chemical form, it cannot pass the USDA test as an "organic" substance.

I could have sent a letter of complaint to the seller.I could have sent back the product. That's not the point.

I want sellers of food or anything I put into my body and on my skin to tell me, the consumer-customer, where the product is grown and where it is processed and packaged.

My consumer reviews on Amazon are my way of alerting other consumers about product issues and concerns.Remember, the consumer-customer is king. If we don't buy, they don't stay in business.

I now purchase the more expensive spirulina that is grown, processed, and packed in vacuum packed bottles in Hawaii. It's not the cheapest spirulina available.I'll pay more for safety and quality for things I put into my body that affect my health.

Two other sources of spirulina I would trust are (1) Earthrise Farms in California's Sonoran Desert, [...];and(2) Australian Spirulina, Product of Australia in Darwin, Australia on Australia's tropical northern-central coastal area, [...]. The Austrailian government' stringent controls over food quality would put our USDA to shame.

Hawaii grown spirulina is sold under the brand, Nutrex Hawaii, Hawaii Spirulina Pacifica. I phoned their offices in Kailua-Kona Hawaii and asked about their products which are grown, processed, and packaged in glass bottles in Hawaii. They use Kona deep sea (2000 ft depth) water. This information is also on their website. You can call them yourself toll free at 1-800-453-1187, or write to them: Nutrex Hawaii 73-4460 Queen Kaahumanu Hwy, Suite 102, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96740.

Spirulina is grown in tropical climates because it needs maximum sunshine. You can buy spirulina products grown in India, China (southern areas) Taiwan, Thailand and Mexico (the Mexican facility may no longer exist). Japan is too cold to grow its own spirulina products, so I assume Japanese companies source their spirulina from other countries. There is a grower of spirulina in Okinawa but it is for research purposes only and not for commercial production.

CONCLUSION:Always ask the seller where, exactly, your food/spirulina is grown.Always seek food grown in the cleanest environment (pollution free air, water, and soil).Become a food detective. Most people research the car they want to buy more thoroughly than the food they put into their children's mouths.

TEST:Of these five things, which would you least want to have destroyed or eliminated: (1) Your car (2) Your TV (3) Your house (4) Your job (5) Your body and health. There is only one correct answer.Nothing else matters if you die prematurely from slow food poisoning.

Keep well. You only have one body to live in.

Now Foods Jojoba Oil Pure Review

Now Foods Jojoba Oil Pure
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I deep fried my hair with bleach about 8 times, it's been every color of the rainbow and then some, I relaxed it, etc. Everything you could do wrong to your hair, I've done! BUT... Just when I thought all hope was lost, I tried using a little jojoba oil in my hair before flat-ironing it (with a CHI, of course <3) wow. just wow. My hair is just as soft, if not softer than it was before I ever burned it a million times over. It comes out very straight, and the style holds very well. Mind you, it's really easy to over do it with this oil because it's so concentrated, but I personally don't trust it unless it comes pure. For shoulder length hair like mine, I use about 3 or 4 drops each time. THAT'S IT. Or it'll look more oily than the fields in the middle east. I've done this on my sister's hair (which is completely different, it's very kinky) and it works even better. Since her hair isn't bleached, it not only comes out straight and soft but shiny as well (and not in the omg oil way). I love this stuff so much. Without it, I might have had to shave off all of my hair! :x (oh yeah, make sure to straighten/style with this oil after your hair is already dried)

Oh, and this makes a wonderful skin moisturizer as well. (Only good if you like the shiny-ish glowing goddess look on your skin)

PS GREAT if you are acne prone, this oil is very similar to the oil our skin naturally makes so if you use it you won't break out like no tomorrow.

PSS On occasion, I will combine this with a dime-size drop of Biosilk Silk Therapy: Silk Treatment for styles with more volume. Mix the two in the palm of your hands and brush through your hair lightly with it. The Sally Beauty Generic of Biosilk works just as well. =)

Organic Argan Oil Review

Organic Argan Oil
Average Reviews:

I have been using this product for approximately 4 months. At bedtime I mix it with several drops of Hyaluronic Acid serum from Swanson Vitamins and apply it to my face, lips and neck. The serum helps make the oil easier to smooth over my face and neck. I also use it on my hands, nails, hair and scalp. Am seeing great results. My skin seems to glow from within, eye area is smooth and less puffy then when I use eye gels/creams, nails are not as dry and brittle and I have also noticed that my make-up last all day with minimal meltdown (less touch-ups) even in the heat of Miami! The bottle contains 30 ml or a little over 1 fl oz and dispenses the oil by pump so there is zero waste of precious oil. Love this oil, and plan to continue using it as long as it is available.

Dandruff Relief Shampoo by Jason - 12 Ounces Review

Dandruff Relief Shampoo by Jason - 12 Ounces
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm not a big time reviewer on Amazon.Reviews come spontaneously to me here, usually based on something I've just seen or read.I will never be one of those people with thousands of reviews to my name.Sure, if I wanted to spend the time to review every book, movie, piece of electronic equipment, music cd I've listened etc. to I could be on here for the next couple of years doing nothing but writing reviews. However since I don't have that kind of time I pretty much only take the time to write about stuff I really love, or really hate. This shampoo falls into the really love bin.

I've suffered from a nasty case of dandruff related to seborrheic dermatitis for the past four years or so.Doctors really don't know what causes seborrheic dandruff and they certainly don't know how to cure it.They have theories for what causes it but that's it.Steroid cremes are great for controlling the symptoms, but over time they are really dangerous to use.So I've been cursed (it seems like a curse) with this awful condition that has led to an infuriating case of scalp itch, and massive dandruff all over my shirts. The dermatitis has spread to my ears and eyebrows too, leading to intense itching and flaking in those areas as well. This sucks!

I have tried every dandruff shampoo on the market and none of them have worked.I discovered Jason Dandruff Relief shampoo about two months ago when I decided to use products that are free of SLS, parabens, cocamide DEA etc. about the same time I discovered this shampoo.Had I not gone on the SLS free kick I never would have discovered this shampoo, and that would have been a loss.

This shampoo is amazing. After one use (yes, that's not a typo) my dandruff problem disappeared.I have used it per the directions (leave in for three minutes and use every other day) and my dandruff has not come back.No more itchy scalp, ears, or eyebrows, and best of all no embarrassing flaking. If this shampoo could cure my dandruff condition, which is probably worse than anyone else I've know, it will cure yours as well. The product says what it does, and does what it says, and that is becoming more rare these days.I appreciate that.

My only warning is the smell, it's pretty rank smelling stuff. It has a strong mediciny smell to it that certainly will not be to most people's liking.Unfortunately the smell does tend to kind of linger on the hair as well. But you know what, I wouldn't care if the shampoo smelled like a fresh pile of dog doo for the kind of relief this shampoo provides me.But I just thought I would throw that out there so you're warned.Don't let it stop you from buying this stuff however, as you'll be missing out on the best dandruff shampoo on the market, bar none!
