I had a bottle of Gold Bond Xtra Strength that my husband basically stole away from me...he's a diabetic and has issues with his skin, especially on his legs. I've had a heck of a time trying to find this in any of our local grocery or drug stores and was so grateful to find it here on Amazon. Besides helping ease the itch of dry skin, this feels cool and smells nice. I'm happy to know that when I need more, I can come back here to get it.

i ordered this lotion for my mother, a heart patient (takes heavy diretics)who complained constantly of itchy skin that prevented her from getting a good nightsleep. after trying all of the lotions, pills, ointments and solutions that you can purchase at pharmacies or retail counters, i decided to try this after seeing it at the hospital. my mother got relief almost immediately. it does have to be applied 3 to 4 times a day initially but after about 3 weeks, she only applies it once a day after her bath. this product is not available for purchase at the pharmacies in my town nor is it available for purchase at the hospital. i ordered it from amazon and had it in a few days- great product

Revitol Dermasis Psoriasis Cream 1 Bottle Review

Revitol Dermasis Psoriasis Cream 1 Bottle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was reluctant to make a purchase for this psoriasis cream because as anyone knows who deals with this skin condition over the counter remedies and "infomercial type products" RARELY ever work.I've certainly had zero luck with them. The only relief I get is a cream I get from my Dermatologist, but at $500+ a bottle (I have no insurance) I'm always keeping my eye out for other solutions.

I usually research EVERY purchase I make, but no matter how hard I searched Google there were just no REAL reviews to be found-just a lot of websites that seemed like they were just ad placement sites...and even a website called [...].That is usually a flag...it's amazing to me when companies use this marketing tool.I mean what health or beauty company that does reviews would create a website for a product??It's very obvious from the site it was made by Revitol as it contains all the usually fluff these types of sites contain.Video testimonies, "Doctors" praise, etc. etc.

Soo I decided to give it a shot based off the idea that if it was that worthless there probably would be a site or two or at least a review that would pop up for it somewhere online. So here Iam now writing a review so that hopefully others won't be duped into buying this garbage. What you basically get is vitamin E cream. It literally is the same smell, consistency, and colour of my little jar of vitamin E cream...it's even the same style and size container-and has the exact same effects on my psoriasis.I'd swear they are just relabelling vitamin E cream and selling it at a huge price increase.I used it for two weeks solid following the instructions.I have a few different types of psoriasis on my body, and this relieved NONE of the symptoms related to any of them.It actually burned upon application (and these aren't open wounds) and made the redness and irritation worse.

I know that all products don't work the same for everyone that has psoriasis. This is just my personal account.Try it at your own risk...UPDATE!!!

I went to send the product back since they offer this "amazing" 90 day 100% satisfaction money back guarantee if you're not fully satisfied with the product.Soooo I end up reading the fine print after clicking on the "return" link....it says wayyy down at the bottom that "any products that have been opened are not returnable".Hahahah.Awesome.So I basically if you get the product and don't like the colour of the jar it's in or the box it came in you can return it for a full refund!!BUT DON'T OPEN IT.Seriously?!

Can't believe I spent money on this product.

Product Description:
Dermasis Psoriasis Cream helps fight the symptoms that cause your skin to look red and patchy with a two-fold approach:Psoriasis causes your skin cells to replicate at an extremely rapid rate (about 8 times faster than normal), which makes cells build up on your skin's surface-forming thick, unsightly patches (or plaques) of red lesions covered in dead skin. Dermasis's active ingredient, 2% Salicylic Acid, stimulates the shedding of this layer of dead skin cells to help alleviate your psoriasis. We have also added wonderful ingredients to help deep moisturize your skin. Dermasis uses gentle moisturizers, essential oils, emollients and PH balancers to help your skin feel smoother and promote healing, including:Palm Oil: Easily penetrates the skin, and forms a thin, protective layer. Vitamin E Acetate: A powerful antioxidant that increases moisture of the skin's outer layer and may provide protection against Ultra Violet damage. Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Trea Oil): This essential oil has been used by Australian Aborigines for hundreds of years to promote healthy skin. This soothing cream can be used on most skin types to help relieve the symptoms of itching, redness, irritation and scaling associated with psoriasis.

Psoriasin Multi-Symptom Psoriasis Relief Ointment, Intensive Moisturizing, 4 Ounces (Pack of 2) Review

Psoriasin Multi-Symptom Psoriasis Relief Ointment, Intensive Moisturizing, 4 Ounces
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Psoriasis sucketh BIG time. It is apparently an auto-immune disease that may be inherited or maybe not. Environmental factors may be in play or maybe not. It appears there are individual differences as to cause and effect. Stress MAY play a part for some. Winter environmental conditions can worsen the disease as it appears to in my case.

With so many variables involved a one-size-fits-all cure is currently unavailable.

I rated this product a three-stars since it is NOT a cure but merely a symptoms reducer for some folks, but NOT all.

At times, it appears coal tar products do reduce the size, redness and other ugly features of my outbreaks.

I have the plaque-type outbreaks on knees, elbows etc. and for those non-tar-based moisturizer seems to be sufficient on the whole.

I also have that other type with the outbreaks looking like smallish round pimple-like things with a red base and white mini-mountain-like areas atop the red. There's a term for that type that starts with a "c." Eeeeek!!!! The "C" word!!!!!

Anyway, when the multitude of small round ugly things appear across my bloated body I shrug my shoulders and just live my life...... except for the ones that cover the back of my hands.

I can live with it but it does attract plenty of attention. Lots of stares and I can tell people are wondering what the heck is wrong with me. Some folks even hesitate when getting close such as when handing you the products you just purchased at a store.I don't blame them!!!!! Even though psoriasis is NOT communicable. It is merely my body's skin cells growing and dying faster than normal. The skin cells die faster than normal and can not shed as do normal slower living and dying skin cells.

But, informing others is tiring and doesn't seem to alleviate fear all that much. Again, I don't blame others for not wanting to get too close since I sure wouldn't want those ugly marks all over my hands.... especially if I was a gal.

I believe it's easier for a rough tough grizzled old coot such as me to be ugly than it is for the majority of females. Heck, I get a kick out of emitting loathsome digestive emissions as I wander grocery store aisles!!! Hey!!! It's a "guy thing." Get used to it or meet me by the bike racks after school. If the Commies couldn't whip me in the 'Nam I doubt if your politically correct warm fuzzy booty is gonna' manhandle this old salt.

Anyway..... coal tar-containing products such as the 2-percent Psoriasin ointment at times beat back the ugly bumps. Not always, though.

The moisturizing base assists in reducing some of the swelling and redness in and of itself.

Be careful about sun exposure when using any coal tar product since it sensitizes the skin to sun exposure.

There are claims to increased possible skin cancer risk but I believe that is a very minor threat and I don't worry a bit about it. If the risk was too great the numerous studies would have had results that jumped out and shouted "DANGER!!!!!"

The stuff ain't cheap but a little goes quite a ways. I only use it on exposed areas...(I tend to wear long-sleeved shirts to cover the crud on the arms).

The moisturizer base is akin to petroleum jelly. I believe there are better moisturizing bases but maybe they are not compatible with coal tar.

Maybe a different moisturizer could go on top of the Psoriasin stuff. Experiment!!!!

Salicylic acid or whatever the stuff is called is another possible bandage treatment that doesn't cure but may quell symptoms. I will try that stuff some day.

There are also other sources of coal tar. I haven't done much research about psoriasis but have done some reading here and there. Lots of info on the Web but beware sites that are pushing a product or a belief without scientific backing. Lots of "snake oil" sales folks out there.

Diet may have an effect. Perhaps, for some, allergies. So many variables!!!! Read!!!! Look out for schemes and scams. Shop around for products. Look at the percentages of active ingredients in products. The 2-percent coal tar in Psoriasin is higher than many similar products.

Good luck to all undergoing psoriasis. Mine hit me after I got a cut on my ankle around the age 0f 35. Psoriasis appeared around the injury and, over the past 16 years spread across the body. It hit the hands a year or so ago and some very minor outbreaks hit my forehead. If it hits my face the way it has other parts of the body I am screwed since I would surely be unhireable. Heck, I'm even having trouble now finding a job with the stuff on my hands.

Oh well.... beats leprosy I suppose!!!

Oh, one last thing. If you are lucky enough to have health insurance a doctor can help. The treatments are expensive, I hear/read and there are some scary side-effects. But, if it means being able to keep or find a job the risks may be worth it.

I can't afford to use a doctor so have to resort to the over-the-counter methods so the reader should remember my advice is for those without health insurance or unable or fearful of using the treatments doctors can offer with their prescription pad in hand.

Good luck y'all and let's hope an actual cure will be found some day!!!

**************UPDATE**********************

Psoriacin with its 2 percent coal tar is performing better than a 1 percent liquid concoction I tried in the past.

Am using it sparingly to make it last. However, since the dreaded malady does seem to worsen in winter perhaps the improvement is at least partially due to Spring having sprung.

But, I am of the opinion the ointment is assisting.

Been using the goop for around 3 weeks now, semi-regularly.

If I know I will be out in the sun for a few hours I refrain from using it that day due to the advice from medicos that coal tar makes the flesh less resistant to damage from the sun's rays. Gotta' be careful.

The tendency towards sun-damaged skin may be cumulative so you may want to surf the Web for advice from a good/reliable source(s).

Just wish the stuff was more affordable (based upon a working-poor income) so I could use it on the rest of the decrepit body covered by clothing when in public.

*********Ye Olde Update************

Huddled within the shanty. Wondering if the continued economic woes and the ever-growing numbers of the USA's working-poor citizenry will face a possible 3rd-world-type lifestyle as the nation's wealth consistently rises to enrich the few at the top of the socio-economic pile, I note that my 4-ounce jar of Psoriasin coal tar goop is slightly over half full.

Is that indicative of a positive attitude or merely a reflection of reality?

A little dab of the stuff goes a long way!!! While somewhat pricey. by judicious use, your coal tar ointment investment will be minimized by avoiding slathering the stuff upon your body.

Use just a tiny amount and spread it around, rubbing it in. Rub rub rub.

If you need a stronger solution some pharmacies, with a doctor's prescription, can concoct a stronger, usually liquid, coal tar solution.

A local K-Mart pharmacy can and will make the stronger solution but being unable to afford the economic cost of obtaining the needed prescription I had to forgo the stronger stuff.

Just be aware that sources for glop with higher percentages of coal tar exist but be aware of the possible hazards.

Oh, keep the glop out of your eyes!!!! Especially if you acquire and use the stronger stuff.

The Psoriasin stuff IS far from a cure for this Disgruntled Old Coot, the shanty-dwelling despiser of the entrenched power structures I believe are engaged in class warfare against the masses of "common Americans," it does apparently curtail the duration and severity of outbreaks, the ebb and flow, the give-and-take as the weirdness of the aging body's innards causes the skin cells to divide at an abnormally fast rate.

Better than too slow, I suppose.

It would sucketh greatly if the skin did not breed fast enough to replenish dying skin cells.

Walking around with no skin would be an immense bummer as the Hippie-like portion of the studio audience would proclaim.

Oh. A POSSIBILITY.Not applicable to all.Worth a try for various reasons.

Try altering your diet and drop a few pounds.May or may not help.Unsure by my own experience but.......well, worth a try.

And, besides, if you can make your general body "outline" more appealing others will be less likely to notice the "patches" and spend more time ogling the shape of your bodily outline.
